Paul Adkison

MANAGING PARTNER / FOUNDER

Paul Adkison is a technology-focused business leader with a heart for entrepreneurship. He believes the best way to learn is by doing, and letting challenge and success serve as teachers.

Adkison began his career with international technology companies. This background gave him a strong work ethic, however, he always desired more. He wanted to identify problems that hadn’t yet been solved and create innovative solutions. He immersed himself in learning about new technologies and harnessing their power to help people live better and easier lives. Serving in senior roles at multiple start-up companies helped pave the way for his entrepreneurial journey. Years later, Adkison is still pioneering new technologies and investing in those with fresh ideas.

In 1999, Adkison founded IQMax and subsequently led the company for 12 years as its President and CEO. With his vision and strong leadership skills, IQMax became one of the first technology companies to deliver sophisticated mobile healthcare solutions to clinicians, pioneering the first iPhone healthcare application and multiple variations of voice communication technology on smart devices. Positioned as a leader in intelligent healthcare communications, Adkison grew IQMax from an idea he had to installations in over 45 healthcare institutions across 32 states.  Institutions like Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, New York Presbyterian, Tenet, HCA, Novant and numerous Children’s Hospitals.

In 2014, Adkison partnered with his close college friend and fraternity brother, Scott Diggs, to merge their entrepreneurial ventures and since then, their businesses have been represented under their family office, Co-X Holdings, where they manage and seek a variety of real estate and entrepreneurial business ventures. Their real estate subsidiary, Co-X Properties, is a preferred developer for Hilton and Marriott and is currently financing over $80M of hotel investments in Greenville and Chapel Hill, NC and Cheraw, SC.

Adkison received a BSBA in Finance/Marketing from East Carolina University and graduate studies in engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology.  When he isn’t working, Adkison lends a hand to his alma mater by serving on multiple ECU boards, planning tech courses, and assisting the School of Entrepreneurship. When not in his hometown of Charlotte, NC, he can also be found traveling with his family or satisfying his adventurous spirit by flying planes, snow skiing, scuba diving and kiteboarding.
